| c1977 | Guild "Artist Award" model Jazz Guitar ...an exceptional example, and one of the last ones made with the orig. issue Dearmond model 1100 Pickup...also still has all the old appointments, stairstep tuners, etc...the photo's don't do this guitar justice..it is a dark, buttery ambered natural finish, like only real nitro lacquer can do..It has rare "Pin curl" maple sides and back..a harder maple that makes it sound great, acoustically..this would be a wonderful acoustic archtop, without the P/U, actually..carved top, and back..has all the usual wear, nicks, scrapes, but is a "well taken care of" guitar..the pickguard looks replaced..it should of had the plexi stairstep pickguard...but looks so good with this on, I am leaving it on..a stairstep pickguard is in the case pocket (I found one, and am throwing it in, with the sale) A STUNNER of a guitar..just exceptional, for an Artist Award...consigned for sale below "fair market value". | cLate 1960s | Epiphone "Howard Roberts" Model Guitar A near Perfect condition example, and has all the nicest features...neck is a little wider than most, with a "flattish" "C" shape...just delightful to play...the carved spruce top has a LOT of "silk" (crossgrain) An exceptionall nice spruce top...Ice Tea sunburst top / Walnut colored back and sides...this one has the heavier duty "Ribbed back" Kluson Tuners...about the only mark on it is where a strap slightly marred the finish, on the back of the neck, behind the nut (see detail close up Photo) actually, very easy to touch up, and go away.. A very rare guitar, and still way undervalued, for being a 1960'd Carved top Gibson made guitar...this one even has the correct orig. hard case...Epiphone's "Gray" tolex, with blue lining inside...just wonderful..I've only ever seen one of these cases a few times, and are stupid rare...the whole package is about as good as it gets. | c1975 | Guild X-500 "Special" ..that's what it is called, on the label...an EXTREMELY rare guitar...one of two made, apparently, and the other example (in S/B) burned in a house fire..so, is the ONLY example left, according to all my sources..ordered with one HB-1 Humbucking P/U, one vol., and one tone...has beautifull figured curly maple sides and back..it's turned a gorgeous dark amber color..has a few lacquer checks, on the top, but this sucker is CLEAN, and stock...for my needs, this is a perfect jazz guitar, because it is a 17" wide body, with a 24 3/4" scale neck (like an ES-175) and has less string tension...much easier on the fingers, to play...will sell this very cool..very rare guitar, for the same price as a lame c 70's/80's L-5...but you'll get a one-off amazing guitar, that will be worth major $$ some day, based on its rarity alone...just happens to play/sound wonderful, also...comes w/ original hardshell case View back view front close-up view front close-up 2 view fretboard view back close-up |

| c1979 | Ibanez GB-10 "George Benson" model Very early issue, with George's actual signature, on the label...just about mint condition..this type of guitar, is Phil's all time favorite design, and favorite type guitar, to play Jazz on...super comfortable to play...a smaller size, but sounds like a big fat Jazz guitar..like so many of these, the pickguard rotted, and discolored the Pickups, so the owner actually had Ibanez send a new pickguard, AND new correct pickups...and here's the deal...the earliest versions of these sound a bit thin, and "Underwhelming"...So, Ibanez went to Seymour Duncan, and had him do his magic thing, and "tweak" the pickups...they became MUCH better sounding...and this example has the better sounding version, of the pickups...everything on the guitar is orig. issue Ibanez, and correct...just the better Ibanez P/U's...comes with two cases...the big square road case, and the more traditional case (if you want both....shipping would be X2..)...this is the nicest example of an early issue GB-10, out there, and a great investment, that is a BLAST to play...
